Co-Regulation Begins with Self-Regulation

Do we bring our calm to the room when we enter a dysregulated environment? The key to helping people become calm is inviting them to your calm? How do you practice mindfulness so that you can “help others help others.”

A Compelling Life

Dr. Goebel created a protocol that helps young people with two critical tasks of adulthood. 1) Articulating personal values and making choices by them, 2) Building a healthy, adult community around one’s goals and commitments. This protocol has been proven effective with young people in alternative schools, group homes and youth correction centers. He can teach this protocol on an individual or staff basis to parent(s), staff members, pastors and educators.

Empowering and Engaging

Dr. Goebel has worked with many minority and impoverished communities in the US, Canada and Mexico. He has helped many systems surrounding youth move from structures based on compliance and conformity to engagement and empowerment.

Intentional Courtesy

ICU (Being Courteous)

To say, “Do Not Bully” is like telling people to bully. The brain misses the NOT. Young people who get attention through bullying release testosterone when they see a sign like that and start looking for victims. Young people who ARE bullied release cortisol and start to act like victims. Why highlight the behavior we DON’T want to see? What DO we want to grow? Intentional Courtesy, “Go out of your way, to be kind, to the lonely, sad and even the mad.” Learn how applying the principles of Intentional Courtesy can change your school and even your community!
