When a president says he doesn’t have to follow the law and is too busy to offer due process to Americans, that’s called authoritarianism. This week, we examine the steps this administration (aided by a defunct Congress and Project 2025) has taken to undermine the US Constitution.

The Missing Branch
Is this a lazy Congress or a jellyfish Congress? Is it some semblance of both? As this article points out, the workings of Congress for decades now have largely been shaped by the ultra-conservative, Newt Gingrich. As this article points out, since Gingrich, this body of legislators has become compulsively focused on performative partisanship and party loyalty. It has brought us such classless abominations as Marjorie Taylor Greene and the finally disgraced and resigned, Matt Gaetz, accused of regularly paying for sex and using illegal drugs. Perhaps no contemporary conformist has done more to create the inept body that we now call “Congress” than the spineless, MAGA-sotted, leadership of House Speaker, Mike Johnson. Johnson sees himself in biblical proportions, calling himself a modern-day Moses. The truth is he is a non-entity, political hack, from the backwater constituency of Shreveport, Louisiana. Johnson is inebriated with President 47—who is closer to Johnson’s true god than the YHWH of the Old Testament that led Moses.

Trump is acting like it’s his choice whether he obeys the Constitution
When hasn’t this president been above the law? Surrounded by sycophants who defend all of his most base ideas (like becoming pope), 47 is now saying that a president has the “option” to follow the Constitution. This is the man who considered granting himself clemency for anything that he might do illegally—and the Supreme Court and GOP backed him up! Why not break laws if there are no consequences for doing so?

Trump Shares WTF Image Of Himself As The Pope: 'Every Day Is More Absurd Than The Last'
Does President 47’s lunacy know any boundaries? Why should it? He’s never experienced consequences for any of the illicit actions he has taken. If he hasn’t bought his way out of problems, he’s used Congress and his cultic supporters to avoid them, or he just ignores them. This image that was shared by the White House (and promoted by ultra-white, ultra-right whacko, Lindsey Graham) is the latest in this man’s roller coaster ride to insanity (and taking the nation—perhaps the world—with him). To make matters more ludicrous (if possible), J.D. Vance jumped on the bandwagon to support 47’s wild imaginings of himself as the new Holy See.

5 times the Trump team told Americans to accept being poorer
How interesting, the man with the most insatiable appetites—for sex, greed, power, and real estate—is telling the rest of the US that they are too consumption-oriented and that they should prepare to tighten their belts as America goes through a “Biden Overhang.” Yes, he is admitting that the cost of his tariffs will land primarily on consumers and blaming it on the previous administration. Of course, his GOP lackeys—rather than reining him in—are backing him 110%. This week, Lindsey Graham (always eager to please his master) suggested that President 47 should be pope, and in customary style, the White House released a photo of Pope Donny on its own news feeds.
