Heather Cox Richardson produces well-researched and informative Substack commentaries on a regular basis. This review of Trump’s recent false bravado, evident in his indignant treatment of Zelensky and E.U. leaders, as well as his obscene kowtowing to Putin, reminds us what a narcissistic, ego-driven oaf the United States decided to elect as its president. Trump never fails to embarrass; however, the rest of the world seems to be learning how to stroke his massive ego and appease his tiny mind. Zelensky, especially, has learned to adapt and countered the last despicable meeting Trump and Vance had when they tag-team bullied one of the greatest leaders this world has to offer at the moment.

Robert Reich is a clear voice with a lot of political history in this modern era. In this Substack commentary, he illustrates why Trump is bound to fail like other authoritarians before him (and around him). They live in “cocoons of flattery.” All the sycophants with whom he has surrounded himself will not tell him the truth; they will only tell him what he wants to hear. They have learned that truth-telling leads to firing in this administration, and, as Reich explains, “So they learned that if they wanted to be rewarded with promotions, money, and power, they could not rely on the normal processes and systems of recognition for jobs well done. If they were to make anything of themselves, they must instead become ass-lickers, lapdogs, and sycophants.” Reich tells us that failure is inevitable, but in the meantime, there is—and will be—a lot of pain. Until we finally get rid of this egomaniacal monster.

Trump's Tariffs and 'One Big Beautiful Bill' Face More Opposition Than Support as His Job Rating Slips
Like a wild animal, Trump is at his most dangerous when he is cornered. His poll numbers are sliding, and even his MAGA worshippers want to know what is in the Epstein files. Look for his trip with International Criminal and Trump Puppeteer, Vladimir Putin, to be one big, beautiful sellout. Hopefully, Trump won’t give Putin back Alaska, but do expect him to “make a deal” on Ukraine. Of course, without Zelensky’s presence, any deal is bogus. Trump will do anything to distract people from his criminal behavior and pedophilic past. Norway’s prime minister, Mr. Jonas Gahr Støre, said that Trump already cold-called him to ask for a Nobel Peace Prize. Remember, this president has no integrity and, therefore, no boundaries.

For those Trump supporters who are finally beginning to realize that this President will do anything—ANYthing—to cover up his crimes, you won’t be shocked when he sells off Ukraine and national interests to curry more favors from his big-time boss, Vladimir Putin. We can put a stop to this, but it will take bold actions, like Governors Newsom and Hochul are proposing in their states. In the meantime, do all you can to let your representatives know; this is not the America we want.

Robert Reich, who is by no means an alarmist, is raising red flags over this Administration’s takeover of Washington, D.C. In his words, “It’s important to see Trump’s occupation of Washington, D.C., as a trial run for a possible military occupation of the United States, including martial law, later in his term.” This is what Project 2025 has wanted ever since they got their patsy president elected. They want nothing short of prohibiting voting and the continuation of democracy in the United States of America. Let this also be a test case for resistance! What can you do today to throw a wrench into their belief that they have a mandate for this behavior?
